Flashback is the culmination of the life-long dream of our friend Rick Blankenship to be in a rock band. Rick, Eric, and Dave Ward met in church and found a common ground in their musical tastes. They began to invite friends to jam and have a little fun. They set a goal of "playing three songs in front of a crowd without being embarrassed." "OK, THAT didn't take long. Let's get a bass player, a major dude, someone with REAL talent!" Unfortunately for them, that guy was already working, so they called me to see if I still knew which end of the bass went to the top. Seems like it was no time 'til we were playing a few small parties, and hiring out for the (very small) local bar scene. Our original goal is long past, Dave has moved on to other things, and Rick is with us only in spirit though we think of him often. We are now a four-piece classic rock band whose songbook spans the ages from the 40's thru the 90's. Ok, not MANY from the 40's OR the 90's, but a few! We play a small selection of country music. Luchenback, Texas would be that selection. What? I SAID it was small. Sheesh! (OK, there are a couple more, but not many!) Some of the other titles are from the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Bob Seger, Eagles, BTO, Skynyrd, CCR, Georgia Satellites, and others. We're based in Southeast Missouri, and we range in age from 41 to (gulp) 56 but we're all still lost in the 60's! Several of the boys have been on the local music scene since before Mick Jagger had fat lips! We love to play the music we play, but that's only a part of who we are. We are entertainers who really appreciate the folks we play FOR as well. We attempt to lend our audience the same energy and joy that we feel when we perform. We are clean, professional, and on time. We are happy to work with you for any special requirements. Flashback has become the band of choice for several area organizations, including First Midwest Bank, the Poplar Bluff Chamber of Commerce, and the Stoddard County Fair Board. The "go-to" band for Southeast Missouri State's "tailgate parties" since 2005 is none other than....TA-DAAAA! SEMO calls Flashback "the area's FINEST 'good time' band." Huh? We are not exactly certain what that means, but we're OK with it! Come on in....look around. Whether you want to dance or just sit and say "Boy howdy, those guys are good!" we're here for you!
